A Helpful Bible: The One Year Bible

I think everybody should have a game-plan for reading the Bible. The One Year Bible, which helps you read the entire Bible in one year in as little as 15 minutes a day, is a great option. The One Year Bible guides readers through God’s Word with daily readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. I am currently reading through using the NLT version.

A Great Grocery Service – Amazon Fresh

We recently had our groceries delivered to our doorstep — literally to our door in less than 2 hours! Amazon recently made Amazon Fresh deliveries free for Amazon Prime members. We hate grocery shopping, so this was a no-brainer for us to try. We put our list together while eating lunch on Saturday, and 2 hours later, it showed up! The food was fresh. The prices were great. This is going to be a game-changer for us!

A Delicious Breakfast Spot – The Flying Biscuit Café

I met my buddy Mike for breakfast last week and boy was the food and company good! I ordered the Meggxican Wrap: Spicy scramble of eggs, cheddar cheese, onions, and serrano peppers wrapped in a flour tortilla, topped with warm tomato salsa and a dollop of sour cream. I added a pancake to my order for good measure. There are several locations around Atlanta and a few out of state.

A Quote I’m Thinking About

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. — Thomas Edison

A Great Book on Apple & Leadership: Tim Cook

Steve Jobs’ selection of Tim Cook as his successor at Apple surprised a lot of people. Their leadership styles are polar opposites, yet Tim Cook has successfully taken Apple to the next level. I am about 50% through this book. It has been interesting to learn more about Apple itself and see how Jobs knew that Apple needed a different kind of leader to keep growing.

    From Amazon:

“Journalist Leander Kahney reveals how CEO Tim Cook has led Apple to astronomical success after the death of Steve Jobs in 2011.

The death of Steve Jobs left a gaping void at one of the most innovative companies of all time. Jobs wasn’t merely Apple’s iconic founder and CEO; he was the living embodiment of a global megabrand. It was hard to imagine that anyone could fill his shoes–especially not Tim Cook, the intensely private executive who many thought of as Apple’s “operations drone.”

But seven years later, as journalist Leander Kahney reveals in this definitive book, things at Apple couldn’t be better. Its stock has nearly tripled, making it the world’s first trillion dollar company. Under Cook’s principled leadership, Apple is pushing hard into renewable energy, labor and environmentally-friendly supply chains, user privacy, and highly-recyclable products. From the massive growth of the iPhone to lesser-known victories like the Apple Watch, Cook is leading Apple to a new era of success.”

    An Enneagram Assessment: iEQ9

The Enneagram is a helpful personality typing system that helps understand the motivations behind WHY we live our lives the way we do. There are 9 basic “types” that each influence our behavior. The iEQ9 is the most comprehensive assessment I’ve seen for the Enneagram. It is pricy, but really helpful in developing self-awareness and empathy for others. You’ll be a better spouse, parent, leader, friend, etc. by applying the lessons you learn from the Enneagram. My favorite less expesive assessment is this one.

A Local Keto Dessert Bakery: Amazing Glaze Bake Shop

The Amazing Glaze Bake Shop makes Keto friendly, sugar free, and gluten free goodies. They ship nationally. If you are local to Gwinnett County, you can pick up a treat at their sister shop, The Baking Grounds. My favorite treat is the chocolate chip cookie stuffed with an Oreo inside. Yum!
