My birthday is next week and I’m asking you to help me celebrate it.
According to stats that I recently heard, those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Kenya only have a 2 to 5 year life expectancy. Yet, with the right education, resources and empowerment, these same people can live an additional 25 years, sometimes longer.
Many don’t.
The problem is that most patients do not know how to help themselves. They are shunned by their neighbors and community. They do not know how to take advantage of the resources available to them. Many of them just give up.
This doesn’t just affect them. It affects their whole families.
This is a problem.
Last week I saw first hand the work CARE for AIDS is doing in Kenya. In a nutshell, they offer a 9 month program that helps give hope, aid, and spiritual help to those living with HIV/Aids. I met dozens of their past and current clients and can attest that their lives have been forever changed: spiritually, economically and socially.
For my birthday I am asking you to help rewrite the lives and the eternity of those infected. I am asking you to give a one-time donation of $20 to Care For Aids. My goal is that together we can sponsor 3 Kenyans in the program. Here’s how you can do it:
Please attach a note that says, “Bobby’s Birthday” so that we can track how much is given.
Together, we can make a difference.
Thanks!
Bobby
