I’m a sucker for tips, tricks, and apps. I enjoy reading my good friend Chuck Allen’s Four for Friday posts. I always find something interesting or helpful, so I thought it would be fun to put out a list of some things I’m enjoying right now. Here is this week’s Monday Mentions.
Monday Mentions – 4.29.19
A Great Book – Rocket Fuel by Gino Wickman & Mark C. Winters
Rocket Fuel is a great book about the power when you couple two distant types of leaders together: the “Visionary” and the “Integrator.” This book is a how-to manual for understanding, managing, and maximizing that relationship.
A Helpful Budgeting App – Every Dollar
Everybody needs a budget. Laura and I recently did some work on ours. While most people don’t enjoy budgeting, budgets help us determine where our money goes. Dave Ramsey’s Every Dollar App is a great app to help with a budget. Joseph Sangl has some useful, free budgeting tools.
A Thought-Provoking Podcast – The Productivity Show
The folks behind The Productivity Show believe you should get your important things done without having to sacrifice your health, family and things that matter to you. This is a weekly podcast where they explore ways to save time, increase your productivity and happiness. They cover topics such as goal setting, time management, personal development, and efficiency. Listen to the podcast and start doubling your productivity.
A Great Read – Hand Me Another Brick by Charles Swindoll
Nehemiah is one of my favorite books in the Bible and my guess is God can use it to encourage you.
Nehemiah was a great leader who faced a lot of the challenges we face today:
- Unforeseen setbacks
- Unrelenting deadlines
- Criticism and outside resistance
- Personality conflicts
- Financial pressures and temptations
Charles Swindoll brings his sensible and straightforward style to offer a deeply spiritual approach to the role of leader.
